Da’wah in Darul’Fitna?
To those who are unfamiliar with the above terms:
Da’wah: The art and science of Islamic propagation (or ‘propaganda’ as some would like to call it).
Darul’Fitna: Arabic term meaning “The lands of turmoil”; this is often used as a general theological term referring to those regions and countries outside of the lands holding a Muslim majority, or in other words, non-Muslim nations.
Together, the two terms above mean Islamic propagation in the non-Muslim world.
This area is probably one of the largest and most difficult in the field of Da’wah, and for the last decade or so has mostly been involved with combating and dispelling the deliberate lies and false rumors, or perchance misunderstandings and anxieties, concerning Muslims, Islam, our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), the Holy Qur’an and the legal field of Shariah.
As a former Christian-then-Buddhist and now revert Muslim, this is my chosen field of study, looking into the religious scriptures of my former and current faith, and seeking to bring the truth to those who misunderstand and/or demonize us. This blog is a way for me to publish my findings out into the world wide interweb that others may benefit from what I’ve learnt, both Muslim and non-Muslim, and particularly my fellow believers in Islam who seek to propagate their message to those who desperately need to hear it, not in the way many so-called “leaders” of our community or the Media seek to present us as, but as the Qur’an and Hadith themselves present our faith as.
I wish you all luck in your journeys, whether they be ones on the path of making Da’Wah or those which have not found their way into the truth yet. May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of Almighty God be with all! (Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!)
